1.3 Compliance Reporting Policy


    To communicate LHCC’s expectations regarding employee's responsibility to report reasonably suspected violations of laws and regulations applicable to LHCC’s Compliance Program, LHCC’s business operations, LHCC’s code of conduct, and any incident of fraud, waste, or abuse.


    It is the policy of LHCC to fully comply with all the laws and regulations that relate to or affect the delivery of health care services and the billing for those services. These laws apply to LHCC because we receive payment for services from Medicare, Medicaid and other government programs. All employees are required to report any incidence of violation of laws and regulations stated in the purpose of this policy.

    No employee will suffer any penalty or retribution for reporting in good faith any suspected misconduct or noncompliance. Any employee who fails to report suspected misconduct or noncompliance may be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination, if warranted. Any employee who purposely makes a false accusation will be subject to appropriate discipline.

    Employees who request anonymity when reporting will receive such anonymity as is feasible under the circumstances subject to LHCC’s obligation to investigate the report and take necessary corrective action.


    Under LHCC’s Compliance Program, employees are required to promptly report any good faith belief of any suspected or known violation of the laws and regulations that govern LHCC’s Compliance Program, LHCC’s business operations, LHCC’s Code of Conduct or any incident of fraud, waste, or abuse, either orally or in writing to:

    • Supervisor or Manager
    • Director of Operations
    • Compliance Officer
    • CEO or President

    Employees who are uncomfortable reporting to any of the above resources, or who do not wish to be identified may report anonymously to LHCC’s Compliance Officer at 256-389-8081 ext. 7021, which is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
